In 1865 Lewis Carroll wrote ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’, commonly shortened to ‘Alice in Wonderland’, 150 years ago this year (2015).
It is the story of a girl called Alice who falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world of interesting, unusual and peculiar characters.
It is considered to be one of the best examples of the ‘literary nonsense’ genre and has proved to be as popular with adults as well as children over these last 150 years.
Whether you have read the original story or not, you will be familiar with the characters and imagery as they have been hugely influential in popular culture and literature.
Here at Eley Designs, we wanted to have a look and show examples of how the story has inspired designers across the different areas of design whether it be, photography, fashion, graphics, music and new media.
